The Money is in the Follow Up

I'm not even close to a pro at this. I don't play the inbox zero game. Here's one trick that's given me a healthier relationship with my inbox.

Batching

I don't constantly check my inbox throughout the day. I look at my inbox at set periods throughout the day. There's no set schedule for this, as I don't allow my inbox to dictate when meetings happen, but I check in the morning, midday, and in the evening.

This allows me to not obsessively wait for replies and let's me focus on work.

Sending Emails?

<aside> 💡 60 second rule. If I'm 100% certain an email will take me less than 1 minute, I'll write it on the spot.

I send email in batches as well. I collect a list of individuals I need to email, and what I need to email them about. I then methodically work through that list.

I do my best to stay out of my inbox while sending those notes.
